"Abschied – Farewell" is a composition by Joachim Goerke, to which Mat Clasen added a melody—similar to "Prelude No. 1 in C Major" by J.S. Bach, for which Charles Gounod composed the famous melody of "Ave Maria". The piece appears on the album "Rivers of Gold". From the press release: "The two musicians, Joachim Goerke (piano) and Mat Clasen (saxophone), share a deep, long-standing friendship. They have been making music together for over 30 years—music shaped by powerful, moving melodies and flowing ostinato rhythms. Their instrumental work lies between classical and jazz, full of both joyful playfulness and emotional depth."
