Hornsection BOXHORNS

Explicit Horns

– The BOXHORNS were founded in Hamburg in 2003, initially with Mat Clasen on saxophone, Johnny Johnson on trombone and Lukas Fröhlich on trumpet. Lukas eventually moved to Berlin and Philipp Kacza took his place. Johnny and Philipp were brought into Jan Delay's band by saxophonist Lieven Las Vegas in the early 2000s, while Mat joined the James Last Orchestra. During the breaks from touring, the BOXHORNS worked together and practiced, acquiring and penetrating every aspect of section playing – be it timing, intonation, articulation, blending, expression, arrangement or recording techniques. In the meantime, the well-booked section can be heard on countless sound carriers, film and advertising music and regularly live in various contexts. The BOXHORNS also work from home for many clients.
