Playful freedom without form seems arbitrary and stale. Form without playful freedom is lifeless and rigid. Quantum physics suggests that everything is interconnected, that every part of the whole carries the whole, just as every cell of a living being carries the blueprint of the whole organism. If that is true, then every note contains all tones, every melody touches the whole universe. With each of my compositions, it becomes more important to me to be loving and careful with the sounds I send into the world.
